Job Introduction
The Governing Board presents an outstanding opportunity for a highly-motivated, professional and inspirational individual to lead our excellent junior school forward, further strengthening our reputation as a popular choice for parents in the area.
At Alverstoke Junior School we are incredibly proud of our children and staff. We are a close community and together achieved ‘Good’ (Ofsted 2022) and the school is ‘living up to its foundation as a Church school’ (SIAMS 2023).
Our previous Headteacher has driven a culture of exceptional behaviour and created a nurturing environment where children strive to be the very best they can be, supported by a team of highly regarded staff.
We are looking for a new school leader who will continue the ongoing promotion of the core Christian values which underpin our day-to-day life - ‘Love’, ‘Courage’, and ‘Respect’ and exemplify our motto - ‘Be Ambitious’, ‘Be Brave’, ‘Be Kind’.
Supported by our strong Senior Leadership Team, this individual will provide strategic and visionary leadership, building on our high standards of education and care while delivering a clear vision for the next few years.
What can we offer you?
We are a great school in a strong position. As our values suggest we are ambitious, we aim high and our children thrive with lots of opportunities for empowerment, to be courageous and respectful to themselves and those around them.
We have excellent facilities – a well-established wooded area currently being used by a Forest School club, an outdoor heated swimming pool, reading pod, well-equipped school grounds and a spirituality garden. We have a strong and supportive staff team with a good mix of experience and early careers team members.
About our location
Alverstoke Junior School is located at the heart of the Alverstoke community. We are a 10 minute walk to the picturesque Stokes Bay beach. A 4 minute ferry crossing to Portsmouth is close by and the M27 is a 20 minute drive.
