Smannell Field School is an Education Centre located in Andover, serving students aged 11–16 across the Test Valley district. We are committed to safeguarding every child, nurturing their potential and providing a safe, inclusive environment where positive relationships flourish. Our dedicated staff team is passionate about inclusive education, delivering a well-sequenced curriculum and strong pastoral support. We aim to provide every pupil with the tools to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally through a well-sequenced curriculum, personalised support, and a strong emphasis on literacy and careers education.
As Headteacher, you will:
- Lead a committed team to deliver high-quality education and pastoral care
- Further enhance the schools’ strategic vision and inspire staff and pupils
- Have a strong commitment to safeguarding ensuring a culture of professional curiosity, early help and multi-agency working
- Drive curriculum development and literacy engagement

The school boasts excellent facilities, including a dedicated library, sports hall, and outdoor learning areas, all designed to support small-group teaching and wellbeing. Our recent Ofsted inspection (April 2024) judged us ‘Good’, highlighting our calm, purposeful environment, robust safeguarding, and relentless focus on attendance and personal development.

Salary: Leadership Scale L18-24 £78,702-90,255 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: 1st September 2026
