Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Careers & Work Experience

Dove House is an Outstanding Academy and is one of academies within Solent Academies Trust. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, confident, and highly motivated higher level teaching assistant with responsibility for Careers and Work Experience to join our fantastic support team on a permanent basis 

Dove House is a popular, successful, and highly regarded school in Basingstoke, for students with severe and moderate learning difficulties and autism, aged between 11-19. 

In this key position you will support whole academy Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance under the direction of the Careers Lead. You will be responsible for ensuring students have meaningful work placements during Year 11 and Post 16 education.

You must be able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, tact and resilience when dealing with challenging circumstances, as well as being able to use your initiative and manage your own time well. 

You will have experience of CEIAG and Job Coaching and/or be willing to train in these areas.

Experience of working with primary or secondary pupils with complex special needs would be advantageous

Training will be given to the successful candidate.

The working hours for this role are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8:30am – 3pm, Wednesday 8:30am – 4:30pm and Friday 8:30am – 1pm. You will work for 39 weeks of the year; however, you will be paid for 45.1 weeks.   Your salary will be paid over 12 months of the year.
