Position: Part-Time (11 hours per week, 39 weeks a year) – Fixed Term (1 Year)
Pay scale: Grade D

About the Role

 

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching and learning across our school. Working closely with our staff team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality learning experiences and ensuring that every child is supported, celebrated and empowered to succeed.

 

This varied and rewarding role includes providing whole class cover for PPA and leadership time, as well as supporting individuals and small groups. You will contribute to a culture of high expectations, inclusion and positive wellbeing across the school.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support individual children, as well as deliver small group and whole class learning
  • Provide whole class cover, including PPA and leadership time
  • Plan, organise and manage your own timetable effectively to maximise impact on pupils’ learning
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing positively to the wider school community
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, children and families
  • Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is supported to succeed


We Are Looking for Someone Who

 

  • Holds HLTA status (or equivalent), or has Qualified Teacher Status
  • Has experience of whole class teaching or PPA cover in a primary setting
  • Demonstrates strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is proactive, flexible and able to manage their time effectively
  • Has strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Is a team player with a positive attitude and sense of humour
  • Is deeply committed to safeguarding and inclusion
