We are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to lead classroom cover across the school, supporting our children to learn in an environment where they showcase our federation values of ready, respectful, safe and kind. This post is the ideal opportunity to provide experience for a newly-qualified ECT or for somebody who already has the HLTA qualification. Alternatively, this could be an ideal training opportunity for somebody looking for the next step in their career or a graduate with a longer-term view to teacher training. The role involves working closely with the class teaching teams to teach, support and challenge pupils across their Key Stage Two curriculum. 

 

Experience within a mainstream setting is desirable, along with the ability to engage and build relationships with children.

You will need:

  • A good English and Maths skillset (GCSE / O Level Grade C or above)
  • Good communication skills
  • A positive attitude
  • The ability to use your initiative
  • To be highly organised with good time management skills
  • To be able to work as a member of a team
  • To relate well to both adults and children
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • HLTA qualification (desirable)
