Job Introduction
Pinewood Infant School is part of The Federation of Guillemont Junior School and Pinewood Infant School. We are a vibrant, supportive and inclusive federation and the Infant School is based in a modern, well-resourced building, with spacious teaching areas and school grounds.
The Federation are looking for a skilled and experienced HLTA to join their Resource Provision for children with autism. The post will provide support and learning for children within a resource provision who have complex and demanding educational needs and ensure that they enjoy, grow and succeed whilst on their educational infant school journey with us. In addition you may be asked to cover other classes, in your HLTA role across the school.
The successful candidate(s) will
- Be trained to NVQ3 standard for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Meet the Higher Level Teaching Assistant Standards
- Demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy skills, (GCSE Grades A-C in Maths & English).
- Implement learning activities based on their working knowledge of the national curriculum using relevant programmes and strategies that have they have adapted to meet the child’s needs.
- Have at least 2 year’s relevant experience in a teaching environment
- Have a well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a variety of people.
