Higher Level Teaching Assistant

St Peter’s is a vibrant school with a positive culture, and has an excellent reputation for delivering superb pastoral care.  St Peter’s is a school that is committed to continually improving the quality of education provided to its pupils, thanks to a dedicated team of hard working and committed professionals.  We are currently looking to appoint a motivated, highly skilled HLTA to join our passionate and dedicated Key Stage 2 team. The successful candidate will provide targeted support within the classroom, as well as timely interventions with individuals or small groups across the year group. They will also be required to provide short term cover for absence as required, but we do aim to keep this within their year team. 

Applicants will:

  • Be calm, patient and flexible
  • Be committed to developing positive relationships with the children they work with, and is a team player
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and empathy with children
  • Have good subject knowledge in English and Maths (knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum would be an advantage) 
  • Show initiative and be prepared to try new things
  • Understand confidentiality, safety and safeguarding
  • Be an excellent practitioner with current experience with the primary age group
  • Have excellent behaviour management
  • Have delivered confident and effective small group or whole class teaching
  • Be committed to raising standards and improving progress for all children
  • Be highly motivated and enthusiastic
