Job Introduction
We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated IT/AV Technician to join our supportive IT team under the direction of the Network Manager.
In this exciting role, you will manage the day-to-day technical operations of the Lantern Recording Studio and Lantern Theatre, while supporting performing arts, media-based ICT learning, and the school’s wider IT network infrastructure.
Apprenticeships will be offered if training is needed, making this an ideal opportunity for both experienced technicians and motivated candidates looking to develop a career in educational technology and Audio-Visual systems.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in—or a strong passion for—IT network support, audio-visual technology, or music production systems (or a willingness to undertake an apprenticeship pathway).
- Is confident operating recording studio equipment, DMX stage lighting, and theatre sound systems.
- Can diagnose and repair hardware and software faults across PCs, Apple macOS and iOS devices, and media hardware.
- Enjoys assisting teaching staff and pupils with technology-integrated learning and providing practical IT guidance.
- Possesses strong problem-solving abilities, good literacy and numeracy, and effective communication skills.
- Is flexible and willing to support technical setups for out-of-hours school performances and community events.
- Holds a clean driving licence (desirable for transport and van hire when handling PA equipment).
You will be joining a forward-thinking, supportive, and dedicated team where the education, wellbeing, and care of our students are at the heart of everything we do.
