Job/Person Summary

The Federation of Northern Schools requires a Learning Support Assistant to join our happy, hardworking and enthusiastic team at Northern Infant School. We are looking to appoint a positive, flexible and professional person to join our dedicated Key Stage 1 team as soon as possible. 

The successful candidate will be supporting a mixed Year 1 and 2 class, both in the classroom and leading interventions with groups. Our Learning Support Assistants work in close partnership with their class teacher to enhance the learning environment, support children’s learning and provide accurate observations and feedback. 

Qualifications, previous school experience and/or experience of KS1 is essential.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • be an excellent practitioner preferably with current experience of working with the KS1 age group
  • have experience of delivering interventions
  • be highly motivated and enthusiastic 
  • enjoy working as a part of a team and independently as well as showing initiative
  • be flexible, proactive and resourceful
  • be highly organised and have good time management skills
  • have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • demonstrate good English and Mathematics skills (GCSE grade C or above)
  • demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills
  • understand confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
  • Have a good understanding of child development and some experience of supporting children’s learning
  • be committed to raising standards and improving progress for all children
