for Speech, Language and Communication

 

Term-time only

Salary Grade D Full-time pay range £27,780 - £30,564 p.a

(Actual pay £13,005 - £14.350 p.a)

The working hours are 8.15am - 3pm, 3 days per week for 39 weeks per year.

 

The position is available from September 2026.

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Learning Coach to provide tailored support for SEN students across different year groups. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to enable these students to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to EHCP and SEN students with a specific focus on Speech, Language and Communications needs.
  • Building strong relationships with students, creating a supportive and trusting environment.
  • Deliver targeted speech, language and communication interventions in line with individual student needs.
  • Support student one on one and in small groups to develop expressive and receptive language skills.
  • Model and reinforce appropriate speech, vocabulary and sentence structures during learning activities.
  • Adapting support strategies to meet the individual needs of each student, focusing on accessing the curriculum.
  • Promoting independence, metacognitive, and self-advocacy skills in students.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to senior members of the Learning Support Team, including the SENDCOs.
  • Contributing to the overall inclusive ethos of the school.
