LSA to be trained as a Higher level teaching assistants (HLTA)

Job Introduction

Woodcroft Primary School is an exciting place to work, where no one day is the same as another. Broadening the curriculum for our children and giving them unique experiences is a key aspect of our school week. In our recent Ofsted report, we were found to be outstanding for the personal development of our pupils. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic LSA who is ready to undertake HLTA training. In this capacity you will support children within class across the primary setting. You will work closely with class teachers to provide an appropriate curriculum and interventions for a broad range of children.  

 

This is a diverse role: working closely with a class teacher to provide high quality lessons to pupils; delivering interventions to individuals or groups; providing occasional class cover to teachers across the school.

 

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Have a sense of humor and be a positive influence for our children’s learning 
  • Have experience as an LSA across the primary phase and be willing to undertake HLTA training
  • Have high expectations of learning and a range of behavior strategies
  • Be able to develop good working relationships with children
  • Be patient and calm
  • Have the ability to work with the class teacher and support a child to access a range of learning
  • Prepare appropriate resources to meet the needs of the children
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Have 5 GCSEs including Math’s and English
  • Able to work independently with initiative
  • Be competent in the use of ICT
  • Be flexible to work across a range of Year Groups
