Job Introduction
We are looking to appoint an LSA2, to be based initially in our Early Years (Reception) provision and provide support pupils on a 1:1 basis, meeting the provision identified in their EHCP and supporting their needs which may include some intimate care support. In the first instance this will be on a fixed term basis until the end of the school year (31.08.2026).
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of an effective team and in close partnership with the class teacher and SENCo. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with Early Years experience - either school or nursery - to develop their career.
We offer Early Years CPD in partnership with Hampshire Services for Young Children.
Trosnant is a two-form entry Infant / Junior school federation which also benefits from an onsite nursery, which is expanding in 2025. Our provision benefits from high staffing ratios, a private speech therapist and trained Thrive Practitioner. The schools have a family support team who also run our community space and café - The Hut, and on-site Forest School with trained practitioners. Early Years have weekly forest school sessions. Our Early Years setting is self-contained and benefits from a large outdoor learning environment.
Our Learning Support Assistants are led by our full time Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion), who ensures that staff have access to a programme of continuous professional development, and many of our staff go on to gain HLTA status, specialist qualifications or to pursue a career in teaching. Our Schools are training schools for SSF SCITT.
As a federation there may also be opportunity in the future to provide class-based support and lead learning interventions, as well as potentially working across the primary phase.
Please note that for the right candidate, we may be able to offer LSA1 (at Grade B), while we support you to achieve your Maths & English, level 2 functional skills.
