The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and talented professional to join our team and play a key role in delivering/supporting the education package though this role as a Learning Coach.
Secure and Specialist is a part of the Participation & Lifelong Learning service, within Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Services Directorate, with the responsibility for delivering education to some of the most vulnerable learners in the county.
Bluebird and Austen are secure, CAMHs hospitals and our learners are likely to have a range of complex needs, so creativity and emotional resilience are a must!

What you’ll do:
- Support learner success by working closely with tutors and the education liaison officer to plan and deliver engaging programmes of study, both in class and through enrichment activities.
- Provide tailored guidance to individual learners, helping them achieve qualifications and progress positively by identifying their strengths, interests, and aspirations.
- Build strong relationships with young people to foster a positive learning environment and ensure timely achievement of learning goals.
- Monitor and adapt support through regular learner reviews, maintaining accurate records and adjusting approaches to meet individual needs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by collaborating with colleagues, attending training, and staying up to date with best practices in learner support and safeguarding.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with learners with SEND, and the ability to engage and motivate individuals with a wide range of needs and aspirations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- A collaborative and adaptable team player, who can also work independently, manage time effectively, and contribute to inclusive and diverse learning environments.
- Confident using ICT and comfortable working across different locations, with a commitment to safeguarding and continuous professional development.
