Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

St John’s C of E Primary School is a two-form entry school with 383 children on roll. 

Our children are engaging and creative learners and the school is actively promoting personalised learning for children and staff alike. We are committed to developing the skills and strengths of the successful candidate.

An opportunity has come about to employ an additional member of support staff at St John’s on a fixed term basis. Your working hours will be 27.5 hours per week, between 8:30am-3pm. This contract is linked to a SEN child and will be reviewed on a yearly basis. 

We are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant who is patient, caring and empathetic to work with our children. The post available is currently in Early Years.

 The person will:

  • Be willing to undertake training to develop their own personal skills;
  • Be able to work independently under the direction of the class teacher or SENDCO;
  • Be able to deliver individualised programmes set by other professionals e.g. speech and     language programme and occupational therapy support;

 

They will need: 
 •     Good communication skills 
 •     The ability to use your initiative 
 •     To be able to work as a member of a team. 
 •     Relate well to both adults and children 
 •     Good behaviour management skills 
 •     Understand confidentiality and safeguarding
