Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
St John’s C of E Primary School is a two-form entry school with 383 children on roll.
Our children are engaging and creative learners and the school is actively promoting personalised learning for children and staff alike. We are committed to developing the skills and strengths of the successful candidate.
An opportunity has come about to employ an additional member of support staff at St John’s on a permanent basis This will be a full time role, hours equating to 27.5 hours per week, term time only. Hours of work to be 8:30am-3pm
We are looking to appoint new Learning Support Assistant who is patient, caring and empathetic to work with our children in either KS1 or KS2.
The person will:
- Be willing to undertake training to develop their own personal skills;
- Be able to work independently under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO;
- Be able to deliver individualised programmes set by other professionals e.g. speech and language programme and occupational therapy support;
They will need:
• Excellent English and Maths skills (GCSE / O Level Grade C or above)
• Good communication skills
• The ability to use your initiative
• To be able to work as a member of a team.
• Relate well to both adults and children
• Good behaviour management skills
• Understand confidentiality and safeguarding
