Job Introduction
We are seeking a passionate, flexible and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism in Year R. Working closely with the Class Teacher, you will support the child's learning, adapt activities to meet their individual needs and help them develop confidence, independence and positive social interactions.
We are looking for someone who has:
- a calm, patient and positive approach, with the ability to reflect on and evaluate their practice
- recent experience of supporting children with additional needs; knowledge of effective support strategies would be advantageous
- the ability to build a trusting and supportive relationship with an individual child
- a good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- the ability to follow guidance whilst working confidently on their own initiative
- strong English and Maths skills
- excellent organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing needs
- a positive outlook and good sense of humour
