We are proud of our nurturing ethos and inclusive approach, and we are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team.
The Role
The successful candidate will support pupils with Special Educational Needs, working closely with the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator. You will be supporting children 1:1, in small groups and in class, helping to accelerate learning, promote independence and ensure pupils feel safe, happy and able to thrive. The role will also include supporting play at break and lunchtime.
We are looking for someone who can:

- Take a calm, nurturing and child-centred approach
- Show patience, initiative and flexibility
- Be an enthusiastic team player with a willingness to learn
- Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills
- Communicate effectively with both children and adults
- Model a professional approach to school life
- Positively manage pupil behaviour while following school policy and strategies
- Engage in positive play with pupils
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and maintain confidentiality
We can offer you:
- A friendly and caring school community, including staff, parents and governors, who work hard to support our pupils
- A strong emphasis on professional development and training, with pathways for career progression, including teacher training opportunities
- An inclusive Church school where everyone is valued and encouraged to succeed
- A supportive and hard-working staff team with a good sense of humour
At Kingsclere, pupils benefit from a wide range of experiences that broaden their learning, from clubs and residentials to exciting enrichment opportunities. Our “high expectations shine through all aspects of school life” (Ofsted, 2024), and as part of our team, you will play a key role in helping children meet their full potential
