Job Introduction
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and motivated Learning Support Assistant to work within our experienced team. You will be working in collaboration with the class teachers and other support staff to provide group and individual support based upon pupils' needs. We believe Learning Support Assistants play a vital role in enabling our children to achieve their best and we value working together as a school team.
Job/Person Summary
We are looking for a colleague who:
- Enjoys working with children and building effective professional relationships to best support them
- Has high expectations and a positive attitude and commitment to supporting children's learning and behaviour
- Fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued and respected when working together
- Has the ability to understand and address the diverse needs of the child, with support from colleagues where appropriate
- Has excellent communication skills and who values working collaboratively to implement effective teaching and behaviour management strategies
- Is organised and able to work independently
- Is flexible, can adapt to tasks required and is keen to advance their professional development
- Has obtained GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or equivalent) or has NVQ / other relevant Education / Teaching & Learning qualifications
- Has previous experience of being a Learning Support Assistant and supporting pupils with Autism would be desirable but not essential
- Is confident to deliver individual and small group interventions
