Learning Support Assistant

St. Bede’s is a thriving, successful, popular and friendly Catholic School in Basingstoke with delightful children, a dynamic staff and supportive parents and governors. 

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children at our school during the school day.  The role will involve working with individuals on a 1:1 basis and with groups of children, all of whom have varied levels of support needs, including those with SEN that are more complex.  Further details are available on request.

The hours are from 8.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, Term Time only.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous successful experience of working with children 
  • Be able to work as part of a team with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Have excellent communication skills, relating well to children, colleagues and parents
  • Have a calm, positive and kind approach
  • Be adaptable to ever changing situations and 
  • Be able to work independently and with initiative
  • Be resilient, flexible, organised and resourceful
  • Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Have a clear understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
  • Be comfortable in supporting young children with personal care and hygiene 
  • Is committed to the inclusion of all children in a mainstream setting
