Job Introduction
We are seeking to appoint an LSA to work primarily with a child, who has an EHCP.
The role will mainly involve supporting an individual child, who has additional needs in their learning, under the direction of the class teacher, as well as providing general classroom assistance as needed.
Ideally the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, resourceful and conscientious Learning Support Assistant who will make a positive impact on pupil progress. They need to be proactive and understand the importance of making meaningful relationships in order to effectively work with children.
Orchard Lea Junior school is federated with Orchard Lea Infant school resulting in us working collaboratively across the two sites. We are a two-form entry school in Fareham with extensive grounds and a spacious building.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has GCSE grades at least C or equivalent in English and Maths;
- Has experience of working with children in an education setting;
- Is able to motivate and engage children;
- Is able to use their initiative and be resourceful;
- Works well as a part of a team;
- Has patience and strong communication skills;
- Has a good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
Integral to the role is your ability and willingness to provide an hour lunchtime supervision by interacting with children and encouraging them to play.
This is initially a fixed term contract, with the expectation that this will run for as long as the child(ren) remain enrolled at Orchard Lea Junior.
