Learning Support Assistant with lunchtime responsibilities

Job Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic, supportive and caring LSA to join Kings Copse team of staff.  

This vacancy is flexible, i.e. part time/full time position considered and working in either KS1 or KS2.

 The role will predominantly involve supporting children’s’ learning as well as general class duties and lunchtime supervision.  The successful candidate will work flexibly and creatively, with the class teacher, to ensure that pupils develop emotionally and socially whilst effectively accessing curriculum.  

The post requires the successful applicant to also work with other members of staff, support staff, SENDCo, outside agencies and parents and carers to promote learning. 

Applicants should therefore have excellent written and oral communication skills and have a proven record of working effectively as part of a team. 

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Ability to maintain a high level of support to enable access to the curriculum
  • Helps children develop social skills and appropriate interactions with their peers
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Can work closely with the class teacher, who will give guidance on the nature and extent of the support and supervision
  • Is able to work independently and show initiative
  • Has good time management and organisational skills
  • Is able to keep records of involvement
  • At least GCSE or O level in Maths and English
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.
