Job Introduction
Learning Support Assistant and Midday Supervisor at Wallop Primary School - Where "Every learning minute matters"
Wallop Primary is a small, friendly village school with a real family feel. We are a supportive, kind, and hardworking team who also enjoy having fun! In December 2025, we had a positive inspection from Ofsted under the revised framework. We are incredibly proud of our report card, particularly the recognition of the behaviour of our children, our positive culture of attendance, and, of course, the quality of education we offer to all children.
We are looking for a dedicated LSA to join our fantastic team. The role will involve working alongside a class teacher during lessons within one of our small classes. This will include supporting individual children, small groups, and providing whole-class support as directed by the class teacher. The role also includes a midday supervisor role. Our children play brilliantly together, and we are very proud of our beautiful grounds where all the children have space to play a variety of games and sports at lunchtime.
The hours will be 8:30am – 1:00pm, Monday to Friday. However, the role has the potential for some overtime and may be able to extend to full days later in the year, if the successful candidate is interested.
What we offer:
A friendly and welcoming village school
Polite, well-behaved pupils who are keen to learn and play well together
Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
Colleagues who are kind, hardworking, and genuinely supportive of one another
Parents and a wider community who are positive, considerate, and supportive of the school’s vision
Beautiful grounds and a positive place to work
A positive professional development offer and supportive performance management
The successful candidate will:
Have a child-centred approach and be passionate about our vision for every child: "Every learning minute matters."
Have the ability to work in a classroom and enjoy interacting with children of all ages
Have the ability to keep pupils motivated and engaged
Believe in and follow our relational, trauma-informed approach to behaviour management and our school rules of "Ready, Respectful, Safe."
Be adaptable, flexible, and a team player - this is so important in a small school
Have excellent communication skills
Understand confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
Provide a safe, secure, and inclusive environment where all pupils are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential
Visits to the school and a meeting with the Headteacher, Katie Simons, are welcomed and can be arranged by emailing Kelly, our Admin and Finance Officer, at k.miall@wallop.hants.sch.uk.
If you are interested in applying, please email Kelly for an application pack. The deadline for applications is midday on Wednesday 3rd June, where we will then be shortlisting. We will then be interviewing on Monday 8th June.
Safer Recruitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
