Learning Support Assistant

Job Introduction

Saxon Wood School is a small primary school for 44 children with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and a range of complex learning needs. We set high realistic expectations for all and encourage everyone to discover the joy of learning so that they may thrive, gain independence and be given every opportunity  to achieve their full potential to be as independent as possible in their adult life.

Our last Ofted inspection (May 2023) graded our school as 'Good' with 'Outstanding' for Behaviour and Attitudes. All of our pupils are real life Super Heroes who show great resilience and an eagerness to learn.

The hours for the role are Monday-Friday, 9am-3:30 term time only plus one week.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and conscientious Learning Support Assistant who is looking to join a fantastic team. We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to ensuring our pupils achieve the best outcome
  • Be a calm, reliable person, passionate about making a difference for our pupils
  • Has the ability to challenge, motivate and inspire young pupils
  • Is able to demonstrate they can work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Is committed to safeguarding and equality

  • Has a nurturing nature which will support and develop the wellbeing of all pupils
  • Has the ability to work effectively as part of a team and form positive relationships with students, parents, carers, colleagues and the wider community

This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who are looking to make a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
