Job Introduction
Learning Support Assistants – Fixed Term
We are seeking to appoint several learning support assistants in order to build capacity within our large and friendly team from Sept 2026.
The role will involve working as a key adult to support children with Education Health Care Plans. The positions will be mainly based in YR or Y1, but one position could include support in lower KS2. Applications are particularly welcome from those with prior experience of supporting children with SEND in a school or pre-school environment, but we may also consider candidates with other relevant experience and/or skills who are willing to learn.
Ideally, the successful candidate(s) will be available to work Mon-Fri in term time, although we are open to applications from those with the relevant skills and experience who would like to be considered for a job-share position. One position is for 30 hrs (8.45am – 3.15pm). We are then seeking at least one candidate to work mornings/lunch (8.45 – 12.30/1pm) and another to work lunchtime and afternoons (12/12.30 – 3.15pm). Please see the job details for more information or call to ask for an informal chat with the headteacher or inclusion manager.
The successful candidates will
- Have experience of supporting children with SEND, ideally within a school or pre-school setting.
- Be cheerful, flexible and approachable;
- Have energy and enthusiasm, and be able to show initiative within the role;
- Be team players, able to work closely with teachers and other adults within the classroom to ensure the best for our pupils;
- Be patient and have good communication skills.
We can offer a strong and supportive staff team and appropriate training for the role.
Please contact Elaine Binks, Senior Admin Officer adminoffice@whiteley.hants.sch.uk for an application pack or to arrange an informal chat with the Headteacher/Inclusion Manager.
