Job Introduction
The Federation of Trosnant Schools is seeking to appoint a skilled, compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA2) to join our inclusive and nurturing school community.
This role will primarily involve providing 1:1 support for a pupil/pupils with complex needs in KS1, enabling them to access learning and flourish both academically and personally.

About Our Federation
Trosnant is a two-form entry Infant and Junior school federation, which also benefits from an on-site nursery, expanding in 2025.

Our Learning Support Assistants are led by our Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion), who provides a strong programme of continuous professional development. Many of our staff go on to achieve HLTA status, specialist qualifications, or pursue a career in teaching.

About the Role
You will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with complex and additional needs
- Support access to learning through adapted, personalised approaches
- Promote pupils’ social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) development
- Support the development of communication skills and positive relationships
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider team to implement individualised support strategies
- Contribute to a calm, consistent and inclusive learning environment
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is patient, empathetic and committed to supporting children with additional needs
- Demonstrates a trauma-informed, child-centred approach
- Has the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Is calm, flexible and responsive to individual needs
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Has experience of working with children with complex needs

Please note that for the right candidate, we may be able to offer an LSA1 position (Grade B), with support provided to achieve Maths and English Level 2 Functional Skills, enabling progression within the role.
