Learning Support Assistant EYFS / KS1
We are looking for a highly motivated permanent Learning Support Assistant to work in EYFS/KS1. The hours of work are 9am - 12.00pm.
In order to be successful in this role you will need:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience of being a KS1 LSA or worked in an Early Years setting
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent)
- An ability to use ICT effectively to support learning
- Has an empathetic understanding of children’s emotions and behaviour and actively seeks to remove barriers to learning

- Is a good communicator
- Has an organised approach to their work
- Uses their own initiative to ensure all learners achieve the best outcomes
- Has a ‘can do’ attitude with high aspirations for themselves and children
- Is resilient, flexible and resourceful
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Work 1:1 and 1:2 with SEND pupils during key points of the day
- Work with small groups of children within the classroom under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo
- Assist in ensuring pupils stay on task and complete learning tasks set by teachers
- Provide support to manage children’s social and emotional needs in conjunction with the class teacher
- Provide feedback to pupils in conjunction with the class teacher
- Assist the class teacher with assessment
- Review progress of pupils
- Plan and deliver interventions that lead to children making rapid progress
- Have a good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices
- Keep accurate records
