Job Introduction
Owslebury Primary School is seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join our friendly, inclusive team. The successful candidate will initially involve supporting a class in Key Stage 2, working closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality learning experiences for our pupils both in class and in small intervention groups. This position will be offered on a temporary basis initially until August 2027 with a view to becoming permanent for the following school year, budget permitting. This position will be working 30 hours a week 8:50am – 3:20am Monday – Friday. The position will also cover part of lunchtime duties and a break duty during the week.
The successful candidate for the position will have the following attributes;
- Enjoy working with children, building positive relationships in a calm, empathetic way.
- Have relevant experience of working with children.
- Have obtained Maths and English qualifications to GCSE Grade 4 or above, or their equivalent.
- Experience of supporting children of primary school age.
- Experience of supporting children with SEN.
- An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
- Be committed to the highest possible levels of achievement for every pupil.
- Be cheerful, resilient, flexible and approachable, with a good sense of humour.
- Show initiative within the role and have good time management skills.
- Be a hard-working team player, able to work closely with teachers and other adults within the classroom to ensure the best for all our pupils.
- Have the patience and the resourcefulness to support and inspire our children with their learning, helping to unlock their potential.
- Have a good understanding of child development.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be able to support children’s behaviour for learning.
- Be enthusiastic and committed to supporting children with specific needs.
