What does a typical day look like?
As a valued LSA at Merton Junior School, you will:
- Meet and greet pupils each morning, helping them transition positively from home to school;
- Ensure the children feel safe, happy, and cared for throughout the day;
- Follow the child/ren’s Three Point Behaviour Plan, ensuring consistent support from all staff;
- Adapt lesson plans provided by the teacher to meet the individual needs of the pupil(s) in your care;
- Communicate with parents/carers at the end of the day, building strong, supportive relationships;
- Provide specialist care where required;
- Support during lunchtimes, encouraging positive behaviour in the hall and on the playground;
- Above all, you’ll be making a real difference in the lives of our children.
Hours typically start at 8:00am to support our breakfast club and finish at 3:20pm. However, we are happy to offer additional hours to the successful applicant to enable them to run after-school clubs.
