Job/Person Summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic and caring teaching assistants to join our established team to work with specific children in Year 2 and Year 4. The successful post holder will work within the classroom, offering a varied programme of support. Previous experience of working with children diagnosed with ASD is desirable however training can be made available if required. These are fixed term contracts (with the potential to run until August 2028/2030). These roles could be covered through one person for the 32.5 hours or through a job share. The successful candidate will:
- Work with the children within the classroom environment and, when appropriate, groups of children to support their learning and development
- Work with a specific pupil outside of the classroom when required
- Be committed to enabling children to make progress
- Be patient, calm and caring
- Be flexible, proactive and resourceful
- Understand the importance of play in a child’s learning and development
- Work as part of a team
- Contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
- Prepare and organise resources
- Communicate regularly with parents and with wider agencies.
- Be willing to undertake training to gain further skills
- Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
