Norman Gate School is a SEND primary school and nursery provision for children with a range of moderate and more complex learning needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Play Team Member to join our team and support our children’s play experiences. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives by fostering meaningful play experiences that support their development, communication, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support communication on play and advocate for its importance.
- Work collaboratively to maintain and enhance play opportunities.
- Assist in effective risk management in play activities.
- Engage with children and young people to support their play needs.
Skills & Attributes:
- Passion for outdoor play and creating engaging play experiences.
- Ability to build strong relationships with children and colleagues.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Understanding of the play needs of children and young people, particularly those with SEND.
- An awareness of different additional needs
- Motivation to provide a stimulating yet safe play environment.
- Awareness of health and safety considerations.
- Strong team-working skills with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Creativity and problem-solving skills to enhance play opportunities.
- A sense of fun, patience, and tolerance.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and processes.
- First aid experience is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience is welcome but not essential.
