Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant

Job Introduction

The Bishopswood Federation of Schools (Infant and Junior) is seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants to join our lunchtime team who work really hard to make lunchtimes in our school fun and enjoyable for our children.

No previous experience of this role is necessary, full training will be given; however, you should enjoy working as part of a team within a school environment and be able to communicate with both children and adults.

We believe that every child should be given every opportunity to achieve their potential and make progress in every area of school life.

Duties will include:

  • supervising children while they eat their lunch in the dinner hall, classrooms and outside areas
  • Assisting with associated duties, e.g. setting up the dinner hall, cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean etc.
  • Encouraging good table manners and promoting healthy eating
  • Ensuring the safety, welfare and positive behaviour of all children
  • Helping the children to enjoy their lunchbreak by actively promoting and supporting positive play and playground activities
  • Basic administration of first aid

Please apply for the above position if you:

  • Enjoy working with primary-age children in a patient, positive manner and have a genuine passion for supporting pupils with diverse learning needs
  • Are a team player who remains calm when things do not always go to plan
  • Are an excellent communicator with both children and adults

Please note: Due to working a relatively short and focused shift each day, consistent presence is especially important to ensure we have adequate supervision and support for our pupils. With this in mind, we kindly ask that personal appointments (such as medical, dental, or other non-urgent matters) are arranged outside of your contracted working hours.
