Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant

Part-Time (Term Time Only)
Hours: 11.55 – 1.10pm Monday to Friday during term time
Salary: A1 (£12.75 p/h)

Micheldever C of E Primary school is seeking a passionate lunchtime supervisory assistant to join our hard-working, welcoming team from 1st September 2026. 

We are a small, rural village school who serves the needs of our diverse community through high-quality, inclusive teaching and by instilling our four key Christian values of Love, Trust, Hope and Forgiveness in all who attend. We have high expectations for all of our pupils, regardless of their background, and work incredibly hard to make sure that all children thrive. 

The Role
 As a Mid-Day Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant, you will play a vital part in the life of our school, helping ensure that lunchtimes are happy, enriching and safe for all pupils. You will:

  • Supervise children in the dining hall, playground and our outdoor Forest School area during lunchtime
  • Encourage good manners, healthy eating, and positive social interactions
  • Support conversation, games and activities that help children build friendships and have fun
  • Help children resolve small disagreements with kindness and fairness
  • Assist with serving or distributing meals (if needed)
  • Help with clearing, tidying, and cleaning up after lunch
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure every child feels included and supported

What We’re Looking For
 You will be someone who:

  • Enjoys being around children and has patience, warmth and a friendly, caring manner
  • Is reliable, punctual, and able to commit to lunchtime routines of the school
  • Has good communication skills and can help children behave safely and positively
  • Is willing to contribute to a team and support children during a key part of their school day
  • Willing to undergo any necessary safeguarding / DBS checks
