Job Introduction
At Sarisbury Infant School, we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our lunchtime supervisory team to ensure that our children have a safe and enjoyable lunchtime.
We are looking for someone who:
- Relates well to both children and adults and has excellent interpersonal skills
- Is caring, calm and patient
- Is able to work as a part of a team, learning with and from other colleagues
- Enjoys working independently and with initiative
- Will proactively supervise children in the dinner hall, encouraging good table manners, promoting healthy eating and assists with associated duties; setting up and cleaning dining tables and chairs, clearing spillages
- Actively promotes play and recognises the positive benefits it can have for children
- Takes responsibility for setting up and tidying away playground resources
- Understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

The post involves:
- Following our safeguarding procedures with rigor
- Supervision of the children at lunchtime in the hall, classrooms and outside areas, encouraging good table manners and promoting healthy eating
- Actively promoting positive play including supporting the development of children’s social skills through their play both outdoors and inside
- Ensuring the safety, welfare and good conduct of all our children
- Ensuring any issues are dealt with in a positive and thoughtful manner
- Assisting with associated duties, e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean, etc.
- Administering minor first aid (training will be provided)
