TEACHING VACANCY – MATHS LEADER ROLE

We are looking for an excellent, enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher to join Poulner Junior School in September 2025

The post is a great opportunity for an excellent teacher to take on the math’s leader role. Maths is a particular focus for the school and we are looking for a new, highly motivated leader with a strong understanding of maths mastery. You may be a current maths leader or one in the making.

The school has had previous changes in maths leadership, so this is a great opportunity for someone to lead the subject and a dedicated staff team.

 Poulner Junior is a good school where learning is exciting and dynamic for the children and the staff.  The focus is very much on ensuring that high quality teaching and learning takes place in all subject areas and that developing the whole child is at the heart of our work.  You would be joining an excellent staff team who enjoy working together within a positive learning culture to provide fantastic opportunities for our children. 
 
 We have established a successful coaching system that supports individual teachers to develop their practice and provide opportunities for our staff to work alongside staff from our own and other schools. Our positive learning culture and teamwork are strengths of the school.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Have the skills to build excellent relationships with children                      
  2. Have the experience and passion to lead a core subject
  3. Be a consistently good or better teacher 
  4. Have the skills to make rigorous learning exciting and memorable
  5. Have high expectations of learning a behaviour
  6. Have the ability to create an inspiring and purposeful classroom
  7. Have a good understanding of Assessment for Learning
  1. Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to work alongside other
