Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants Required

St. Bede’s is a thriving, successful, popular and friendly Catholic School in Basingstoke with delightful children, a dynamic staff and supportive parents and governors.

We are seeking to appoint Midday Supervisory Assistants (MDSA) to join our friendly team of Lunchtime staff, who work really hard to make lunchtimes in our school fun and enjoyable for our children.

You should enjoy working as part of a team within a school environment and be able to communicate with both children and adults.

No previous experience of this role is necessary.

Duties will include:

  • supervising children while they eat their lunch in the dinner hall, classrooms and outside areas
  • Assisting with associated duties, e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean etc.
  • Encouraging good table manners and promoting healthy eating
  • ensuring the safety, welfare and positive behaviour of all children
  • helping the children to enjoy their lunchbreak by actively promoting and supporting positive play and playground activities
  • basic administration of first aid
