Are you a caring, reliable driver who enjoys working with children and young people?
Forest Park School is seeking a dedicated Minibus Driver to help transport our pupils safely between school and home. The role offers 15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours during the school day supporting educational visits, trips and other transport needs.
Core hours are 2.45pm to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday, during term time. Applicants must be able to commit to these minimum required hours. Remaining hours will be flexible depending on the needs of the school.
Our pupils have a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, including complex medical needs, limited or non-verbal communication, mobility needs, and behavioural challenges. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of patience, kindness and consistency, helping to make every journey home safe, positive and enjoyable for our children.
We are looking for someone who:
• Holds a D1 driving licence.
• Has experience driving minibuses (desirable).
• Enjoys building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Is calm, patient and committed to supporting children with complex needs.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding, safety and excellent customer care.
• Is willing to undertake relevant training, including MiDAS if required.
The role includes:
• Safely transporting pupils to and from school and on educational visits.
• Supporting pupils boarding and leaving the vehicle, including wheelchair users and those requiring additional assistance.
• Working closely with staff and families to ensure pupils feel safe, comfortable and supported throughout their journey.
• Carrying out routine vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, care and professionalism at all times.
