  • There is a fully resourced 5-year SOW for all three languages and the team works together to collaboratively plan challenging lessons in which all students can make excellent progress and feel successful in language learning.
  • EdTech is central to MFL, with all self-study online and regular opportunities to use Chromebooks in lessons. There are interactive Clevertouch screens in every classroom.
  • Memrise, Sentence Builders and other online resources used to support out of class learning.
  • There is an opportunity to drive improvement and development of the MFL curriculum, working with the MFL team to secure the best outcomes for our students.
  • MFL is recognised as an important subject and the school strongly encourages all students to continue learning a language to GCSE.
  • The MFL department has a number of international links and regular trips abroad, including a close connection with a school near Stuttgart whom we have been working with for over 35 years.
