Noadswood Pathways Lead – In School Alternative Provision Lead Practitioner

Job Introduction

Required from 1st September 2026:

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our warm, welcoming and, to its core,  inclusive school, to lead and manage our already successful in school Alternative Provision offer and to extend it to meet the needs of a wider range of our learners who need a bespoke curriculum and support package to help them succeed.

We look to expand our already established Alternative Provision routes to ensure we can resoundingly fulfil our vision for an ‘all-inclusive’ school, cater for students who may require a longer period of adjustment to mainstream secondary school life on entry, and for those who need a blended package of mainstream ordinarily available provision with something different and extra to meet their needs.

We need someone with the vision, skills and qualities to inspire and lead a team of experienced colleagues, already passionate and successful in their work, to extend the offer in the spirit of what we already have and hold dear in our work, informed by the best practice out there, and in alignment now with the White Paper and SEN Reforms.

Skills and enthusiasm for project management and the canny use of space and resource are vital, as is a belief in what we can do, as empowered architects of the school system we want to see in our area, to serve our community.

We need someone highly proficient and experienced in data handling, who will track, monitor and intervene -  in the name of high expectations for each child - in terms of their attendance, wellbeing and curriculum engagement. We need someone with the vision and skills to create secure, strong systems for referrals, progress, assessment and safeguarding tracking for each child and careful, safe reintegration into the mainstream, with safety nets and review points to support everyone, building on the work we already undertake in the Noadswood Centres for Alternative Provision we already have.

We need a truly inspirational person with:

  1. A passion for and experience in Inclusion and SEND;
  2. Qualified Teacher status with confident, strong leadership skills;
  3. A SEN qualification or willingness to complete SEN training;
  4. A safeguarding qualification or willingness to complete safeguarding training;
  5. A vision for project management that brings a vision to life in terms of space, resource, and quality of provision;
  6. Experience in data management and impactful use of data to improve outcomes;
  7. A strong, steady, respectful presence around school with all colleagues and young people alike, no matter the challenges of the day;
  8. Resolve to sustain strong, transparent partnerships with parents, carers, agencies and other local community members, even in times of challenge or complaint;
  9. A drive to take this project forward for our school and the wider Waterside community

We would warmly welcome visits to our school prior to applications – please email recruitment@noadswood.hants.sch.uk if you are interested to do so.

We will offer a tour, and an opportunity for you to talk to our Headteacher, Kathryn Marshall, and members of our existing team, about our vision and yours.

For further information and an application form, see our website www.noadswood.hants.sch.uk.  Applications to be sent by email to recruitment@noadswood.hants.sch.uk.  Please note CVs are not accepted.

We cannot wait to hear from you!
