Job Introduction
We are looking to appoint to our team, a Learning Support Assistant with a warm and caring nature, who is passionate about making a difference to children's lives to join our committed and supportive team. The successful candidate will be working in KS1, supporting a child with Special Educational Needs engage with his learning.
The person appointed will need to be able to work discreetly, both inside and outside of the classroom, liaising with the class teacher and SENDCo.
We are looking for someone with:
- The ability to establish a sympathetic and understanding relationship with the child
- An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and the necessary and complex requirements relating to this particular role
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to keep detailed and accurate records
- The ability to follow procedures exactly and also be able to work under your initiative
- Nurturing skills and the ability to be able to be supportive of the development of the child’s social and self-help skills
- Preferably has experience working with children with speech, language and communication difficulties and Autism.
- Able to work as part of a team and individually
- Good sense of humour
The position is to start in the summer term, working 8:45 - 3:15, Monday-Friday.
