Job Introduction
We are looking for an efficient and friendly Admin Assistant to support our busy office team for 24 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. This is initially offered on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2026, with potential for it to be extended for the right candidate.
The role is to cover 8-4pm on a Monday and Friday and 1-4pm for the rest of the week, job sharing with our existing Admin Assistant who will work the rest of the time. There will be an overlap each day for handover.
The salary offered is Grade B (£24,027 - £24,348 Pro-rata) and is dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will:
Enjoy working with children in a primary school environment and understand that the children are central to all decision making
Be committed to safeguarding and protecting children
Be the face of the school, welcoming visitors in a friendly and helpful manner
Have experience of working in an office or reception setting
Be an excellent communicator - confident with direct interaction with all visitors to the school, recognising the role as the face of the school, and the importance of effective and reliable communication even when under pressure
Be able to manage telephone queries efficiently and effectively
Demonstrate initiative and be proactive in ensuring that matters arising from visitors or from within the school are dealt with promptly and prioritised effectively
Be flexible and adaptable, able to do the job well when under pressure or facing a time constraint
Have particular expertise and experience of school records administration
Be proficient in the use of IT to fulfil the requirements of the role
Have in depth experience of using a pupil management information system, preferably Arbor although training can be given to the right candidate
Have experience of using Tucasi, although this is not essential as training can be provided
Be able to manage, prioritise and meet deadlines and be able to multitask
Be able to work effectively as a team member, under direction and also independently
Be approachable, confident, respectful and credible
Be supportive to the school team and all stakeholders, committed to working collaboratively
Be intuitive, caring and maintain high regard for confidentiality at all times
Be willing to undertake a wide range of professional development
Have the confidence to negotiate with travel companies and educational trip advisers to achieve good value for money for the school
Have the skills to be the point of contact between the staff and educational visit providers to ensure that all administrative tasks regarding trips are completed in a timely manner
Have a passion for ensuring the wellbeing of children and staff and with training, administer first aid and medicines
Be able to carry out a key role in emergency procedures efficiently and calmly
Have lots of energy, excellent multi-tasking skills and a good sense of humour
Have achieved a C grade or above in English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
