Job Advert Peripatetic Music Teacher – part-time (0.1 – 0.4)
The Governors are seeking to appoint a talented and inspirational part-time Peripatetic Music Teacher to join our enthusiastic school teaching team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional with exceptional teaching skills in music to further drive high standards of attainment at our school. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching music to primary aged pupils from Year 2 upwards.
This is a part-time teaching position, to work either 0.5, 1 or 2 days per week (depending on how many instruments the individual can teach), to start in September 2025. We are open to employing more than one music teacher in order to offer a breadth of instruments to our pupils. The days will be confirmed with the Headteacher, once the successful candidate is appointed. To continue provision already in place, we are ideally seeking expertise in woodwind, keyboard/piano and guitar (acoustic, electric and bass).

The successful candidate will:
• have a proven track record of teaching music to small groups of pupils from Year 2 upwards;
• have a strong background of teaching a range of musical instruments
• be able to plan, prepare and adapt teaching methods and resources to suit the specific needs of the pupils;
• have excellent interpersonal qualities, underpinned by a firm vision for improving outcomes for children;
• be passionate about implementing a stimulating, tidy and attractive learning environment for pupils;
• have a sense of humour;
• be sympathetic to our Catholic values and ethos;
• place the children at the heart.

Salary range: Qualified Teacher Status from £31,650 - £38, 034;
Unqualified Teacher Status from £21,731 - £33,902), pro rata for 0.1-0.4
