We Are Hiring – Lunchtime Assistants Wanted!

We are looking for two friendly, caring individuals with experience working with children to join our successful and committed team as permanent Lunchtime Assistants.

If you can promote good behaviour, enjoy engaging with young children, have a caring nature, a sense of fun, and hold relevant childcare qualifications or practical experience—this could be the perfect role for you!


PERMANENT LUNCHTIME ASSISTANT POSITIONS

  • Hours: 12:00 – 1:15pm, Monday to Friday

  • Contract: 6 ¼ hours per week, term time only

  • Pay: Grade A3 – £12.26 per hour

  • Start date: As soon as possible (following all relevant checks)

  • Closing date for applications: 3rd September 2025


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising children in the dining hall, encouraging good manners and healthy eating

  • Overseeing playtime on the playground or in the classroom during wet weather

  • Creating and supporting positive play opportunities

  • Cleaning up minor spills and wiping down tables

  • Providing minor first aid as needed

  • Supporting children’s wellbeing, safety and positive behaviour

  • Maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times

  • Following school safeguarding and child protection policies

  • Communicating effectively and professionally with staff


What we’re looking for:

  • A kind, proactive and reliable individual

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Experience with young children in a school or childcare setting

  • Understanding of safeguarding and the needs of young learners

As part of the interview process, shortlisted candidates will complete a short task with a group of children to assess suitability for the role.
