Yarrow Heights School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Personal Development Coordinator to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and deliver a comprehensive Personal Development curriculum that includes PSHE, Life Skills, Careers Education (CEIAG), and Independence Training, all within a nurturing and ambitious specialist environment.
· Support the Head of Personal Development in delivering an engaging, inclusive curriculum across all key stages.
· Teach PSHE and Life Skills lessons, focusing on safety, health, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
· Contribute to our Careers Programme, supporting students in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
· Act as a key contact for emerging pupil needs and assist in the design of responsive, needs-based PSHE content.
· Liaise with safeguarding staff and contribute to pupil welfare through curriculum design and reactive teaching.
· Lead the School Council, promoting pupil voice and leadership.
· Help gather and evidence student progress in Personal Development, SMSC, EDI and the ‘hidden curriculum’.
Requirements
Essential:
· Strong understanding of PSHE, RSE, CEIAG statutory guidance, and the Gatsby Benchmarks.
· Excellent organisational and communication skills.
· A collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and curriculum delivery.
Desirable:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
· Experience in SEN settings, particularly with ASC or SEMH needs.
· Additional qualifications in PSHE, Careers Education, or SEN.

Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7-19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of who are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
