Job Introduction
Would you like to work in a school where 100% of staff recommend the school to parents as a good place for their children to learn?
Even though we are in an active city area, we are lucky to have a beautiful, large and green site which nestles in the heart of our community. Our aim is to ensure that our children are given every opportunity to flourish and to exceed expectations.
As you would expect, children are at the heart of everything we do at Tanners Brook – we are so proud of every single child who learns and develops with us. We are privileged to be able to shape the lives of our children and to equip them with the values we hold dear: being thoughtful, having self-belief, persevering, and challenging ourselves to succeed. These values underpin everything we do.
Our vision of every child striving for their personal best means that we are proud to equip our children and staff with the skills, qualities and values they need to make this happen and to develop a lifelong love of learning.
About the role:
We are looking for an outstanding teacher and leader who can be part of our extended leadership team as a phase leader. In this role, the successful candidate will support the development of the school by demonstrating excellence in their own classroom whilst leading school improvement for their phase. If you are seeking the opportunity to begin the journey into senior leadership or are already a phase leader looking for a new challenge; if you are passionate about teaching and learning and want to make a difference; if you believe in professional development and want to support that development in others and wish to be supported in developing further yourself, then we would love you to apply.
We are seeking a professional individual who:
- Is proactive and ready to develop their vision for the phase as a ‘mini school’
- Has a clear understanding of the essential qualities necessary for effective teaching and learning and demonstrates high quality teaching strategies
- Is able to lead and manage a school team to successfully achieve agreed goals
- Is creative, committed and passionate
- Is dedicated to making a real difference to the lives of children
- Has the ability to work both as part of a team and independently with a flexible and proactive approach
In return, we can offer you:
- A positive working environment focused on staff well-being, student welfare, progress and high standards of achievement and behaviour
- Additional working together days with your year group team
- The option to take PPA from home
- Free access to school wellbeing support including counselling, mindfulness and physiotherapy
- Excellent CPD opportunities and Training and Development Programmes (in school and through the Trust)
- In-house Teaching School Hub
- Eligibility to join the Teachers’ Pension Scheme or Local Government Pension Scheme
