Pre-School Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Pre-School manager to join our friendly early years team in our Pre-School. We are a successful, term time only setting for children aged from 2 years 9 months to school age.  Our setting is overseen and guided by our EYFS lead teacher, with support from our school senior leadership team.     

We aim to enable children to achieve more than they ever thought possible, providing them with experiences that help to shape their future. This role will involve supporting our EYFS lead to continue to run our high quality early years provision, providing a stimulating, caring environment and ensuring that our Pre-School children fulfil the expected outcomes of the EYFS.

This vacancy is for 33hrs per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8.30am-3.30pm, Wednesday 8am-3.30pm).  As we are a term time only setting, the role is for 39 weeks per year.  

The successful candidate will:

· Have at least 2 years of experience working in an early years setting

- Hold an appropriate level 6 early years qualification or QTS.  

· Be creative, organised and passionate about working with children and their families.

· Have experience of supporting children with their learning and development.

· Have experience of supporting children with interaction and communication needs.

· Have excellent communication skills, relating well to children, colleagues and parents.

· Be able to work independently, proactively and with initiative as well as work as part of a team.

· Be confident in the understanding and use of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

· Be willing to undertake any further training, as required.

· Hold a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate (training will be provided if required).

· Be willing to support the wider early years team in year R, if required.


Role / responsibilities, with oversight from our EYFS lead teacher, include:

· Overseeing the development and wellbeing of children within our setting.

- Ensure the daily effective management of the Pre-School in accordance with current legislation, including adherence to regularly reviewed policy and procedures.

- Ensure that high standards, ratios and conditions of registration are maintained at all times.

- Maintain and develop the ethos of the Pre-School in line with our school.

· Taking on the role of the Key Person, ensuring that the learning and personal development needs of a group of children are met.

· Working closely with the whole early years team to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment for all our children.

· Planning appropriate support for an individual child’s needs.

· Following confidentiality and safeguarding procedures at all times.
