We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the dedicated team at Wickham Pre-School, part of Wickham Church of England Primary School, from April 2026. Our pre-school is a well-established and highly regarded setting, known for its nurturing environment and strong partnerships with families.
Located in the heart of Wickham village—just a short drive from Fareham and surrounded by the beautiful Meon Valley countryside—our setting provides a warm, welcoming space where children thrive.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and committed Early Years Practitioner who is enthusiastic about supporting young children’s development through play and exploration. The role is fixed term until the end of July 2026 but there is a strong possibility that it will become permanent beyond this date.
The successful candidate will:
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children feel happy and secure.
Use in-the-moment planning to tailor learning experiences to each child’s interests and developmental needs.
Embrace both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
Work collaboratively with a supportive and experienced team.
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
Experience working in an early years or childcare setting.
A nurturing, reflective, and child-centred approach.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to working in partnership with families.
