We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the dedicated team at Wickham Pre-School, part of Wickham Church of England Primary School, from September 2025. Our pre-school is a well-established and highly regarded setting, known for its nurturing environment and strong partnerships with families.
Located in the heart of Wickham village—just a short drive from Fareham and surrounded by the beautiful Meon Valley countryside—our setting provides a warm, welcoming space where children thrive.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and committed Early Years Practitioner who is enthusiastic about supporting young children’s development through play and exploration. The role is fixed-term until 22nd July 2026, although there is a possibility that it may become permanent.
The successful candidate will:
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children feel happy and secure.
Use in-the-moment planning to tailor learning experiences to each child’s interests and developmental needs.
Embrace both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
Work collaboratively with a supportive and experienced team.
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
Experience working in an early years setting.
A nurturing, reflective, and child-centred approach.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to working in partnership with families.
We may also consider applicants with relevant experience who are working towards a recognised qualification (or who are willing to do so).

Working Hours
Monday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Wednesday: 9:00am – 3:15pm
Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
