We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive Site Manager to join our Glenwood School community.

Glenwood School is a Local Authority Special School within the boundary of Hampshire County Council.   It provides a secondary education for pupils with an Education Health Care Plan for Special Educational Needs which fall within the moderate learning difficulties range plus some with more severe learning difficulties.  This includes pupils with Speech and Language difficulties, social communication difficulties and autism.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in the daily organisation and management of the school site, ensuring that we provide a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

This role would ideally suit someone with previous site management experience (experience within a school setting would be advantageous but not essential) and a sound knowledge of overseeing maintenance and repair programmes. You will work as an integral part of our site team, responsible for building maintenance, compliance, liaising with contractors and contributing to the school’s longer-term development plans.

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing a Site Assistant, a small team of cleaners, a mini bus driver and two mini busses, providing leadership, support and day-to-day direction to ensure that high standards of cleanliness, safety and site presentation are consistently maintained.

A key element of this role is the promotion and management of health and safety across the site, so applicants should have a good understanding of relevant legislation, procedures and best practices, alongside excellent communication skills.

This is a busy, hands-on and varied role requiring strong organisational abilities, time management and a proactive attitude.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate about ensuring an exemplary school environment for all
  • Knowledgeable about the importance of health and safety within a school setting
  • Flexible, approachable, and a positive team player
  • Experienced in supervising and motivating others
  • Highly organised, with strong time management, communication and IT skills

Please contact the school direct for an application pack: adminoffice@glenwood.hants.sch.uk.  The school inbox will be monitored periodically during the summer break (22nd July – 3rd September 2025).

If you would like to visit the school after the holidays please kindly contact us via the above e-mail address.
