Job Introduction

The closing date for this vacancy is 9am Friday 17 April 2026

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and dedicated leader, who has high expectations and continuously strives for the very best outcomes. This an exciting opportunity to join The Hamble School. Our vision ‘We Care, We Aim High, We Learn and Achieve Together’ encapsulates the work we do every day. Our intake numbers are increasing – we currently have 1,090 students and are oversubscribed for September 2026. In March 2025 we were graded as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted and we are continuing to ensure that we provide the very best education for all our students.

We are seeking a forward‑thinking Raising Standards Leader to join our team and play a central role in driving academic achievement across the school. This is a whole‑school position, open to teachers from any subject specialism and presents an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Middle Leader ready for progression or an experienced leader seeking a new challenge.

In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and key staff to raise aspirations, improve progress and ensure students meet and exceed their potential. You will lead on the use of assessment and performance data, identifying underachievement and coordinating effective interventions. A significant part of the role will involve planning, delivering and evaluating the Achieving Excellence Programme for all students and ensuring targeted students receive tailored support that has a measurable and has a positive impact on their progress.

You will play an active role in our Quality Assurance processes, helping to drive improvements in teaching and learning and contributing to whole‑school self‑evaluation and improvement planning. Collaboration is central to this role; you will work closely with colleagues across departments, as well as parents and external partners, to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed.

We are looking for someone with a passion for inclusive, high‑quality education, who can inspire staff and students alike. The successful candidate will bring energy, initiative and a drive for continuous improvement. You will be highly organised, with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work under pressure. If you are committed to raising achievement and shaping the future success of our students, we would be delighted to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a supportive, ambitious and forward‑looking school community.

In return, we can offer you:

•   a positive and optimistic working environment focused on staff well-being, student welfare, progress and high standards of achievement and behaviour;
