HISP Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional Regional Secondary English Strategy Lead to provide strategic leadership for English across our priority secondary schools and regions.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and highly effective English leader to make a significant impact across multiple schools, supporting excellence in curriculum implementation, teaching, assessment and pupil outcomes.
The successful candidate will be an inspirational practitioner with a strong track record of improving outcomes in English. They will possess the expertise, credibility and leadership skills required to work alongside Headteachers, senior leaders and English departments to drive improvement, build leadership capacity and strengthen collaboration across the Trust.
Rooted firmly in HISP's values of Pupils First, Equity, Excellence, Ambition, Sustainability and Courage, the postholder will play a key role in ensuring that every pupil experiences a high-quality English education that enables them to thrive academically and personally.
The role will initially focus on supporting HISP's secondary schools, providing sustained leadership capacity and working closely with school leaders and the Trust Education Team to identify priorities, develop effective improvement strategies and evaluate their impact.
Working as part of the Trust English and Education Teams, the successful candidate will lead curriculum implementation, evidence-informed improvement and professional development, whilst maintaining a significant classroom presence through a teaching commitment of up to 0.4.
As a Regional Secondary English Strategy Lead, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for English across identified schools and regions, driving continuous improvement in teaching, curriculum implementation, assessment and pupil outcomes.
- Lead the successful implementation and embedding of the Trust's English curriculum, ensuring high-quality provision for all pupils.
- Support schools in developing ambitious and effective approaches to raising standards at Key Stage 4, particularly in English Language and English Literature.
- Build strong collaborative networks across schools, enabling the sharing of expertise, resources and effective practice.
- Coach, develop and inspire English leaders and teachers, building sustainable leadership capacity across the Trust.
- Design and deliver high-quality professional development that responds directly to curriculum, assessment and pupil outcome priorities.
- Work closely with Headteachers, senior leaders and the Trust Education Team to identify and address school improvement priorities.
- Promote the vision, values and strategic priorities of HISP Multi Academy Trust.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people by ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are fully implemented and upheld.

- Has Qualified Teacher Status and a strong track record of successful secondary English teaching.
- Has experience of curriculum leadership, school improvement and raising standards.
- Demonstrates expertise in curriculum design, implementation, assessment and evidence-informed practice.

- Is committed to collaboration and developing sustainable improvement through others.
- Possesses excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills.
